ACCI (the Association of Certified Interpreters) is the global body for professional interpreters. Founded in 2013 by Pawel J ... anicki as the Association of Qualified Translators and Interpreters; in 2016 we became the only organisation focusing solely on the profession of a language interpreter. ACCI has consistently held unique core values: opportunity, diversity, innovation, integrity and accountability. We believe that interpreters bring value to economies in all stages of development. We aim to develop capacity in the profession and encourage the adoption of global standards. Our values are aligned to the needs of both public and private sectors and we ensure that, through our new qualifications, we prepare interpreters for business. ACCI works to strengthen a global profession based on the application of consistent standards. To achieve this, we work with professionals and organisations across the world. Above all, we seek to bring long-term value to economies in which we develop and support professional interpreters. We support our members and students, helping them to develop successful careers in interpreting, with the skills the industry requires. We work from Southampton head office and we aim to create links with more organisations to support our members. ACCI works in the public interest, assuring that its members are appropriately regulated and insured for the work they carry out and, promoting principles-based approaches to regulation. We actively seek to enhance the public value of language interpreting in society through research to ensure interpreting as a profession continues to grow in reputation and influence. read more
