The AB4Rail (Alternative Bearers for Rail) project was selected for funding within the framework of the European Horizon and ... the Shift2Rail Programs. The Radiolabs Research Consortium will coordinate such international challenge together with the Guglielmo Marconi University, partner of the Consortium, and in cooperation with the University of Rome Tor Vergata and the University ROMA TRE. The two-years project started on 1st, January 2021 with a budget of 350k€. The main goals of the project will be: 1. Identification of alternative wireless technologies (or alternative bearers) for communications in the railway sector (Workstream 1); 2. Study and assessment of communication protocols for railway applications (Workstream 2); 3. Dissemination of results among stakeholders, industrial partners, and within programs of the railway world such as Shif2Rail and X2Rail-5. read more
